Kambo Ceremony

The Ceremony

In this ceremony, we will be connecting with the spirit of the Phyllomedusa Bicolor frog, also known as Kambo in the Amazon jungle. Kambo is a very powerful earth medicine that is traditionally shared with hunters in order to make them more effective. It is also known as the vaccine of the jungle. Click here to learn more about Kambo.

Ceremony may take anywhere from 3-6 hours for group, and 1.5 - 3 hours for private session.

Group space is limited to 6 people.

Bring a gallon of water, change of clothes, and small blanket + anything to add to the alter such as sacred items or flowers.

Energy Exchange

Private sessions: $150

Group sessions: $111

The deepest way to do this work is completing 3 sessions within a moon cycle (this is the strongest way to work with Kambo). Reach out to explore options if financial circumstances are holding you back.

Ceremony Flow

• Opening the space with smudging and body scan meditation

• Invocation for healing, inviting in the elements

• Sharing of intentions and prayers for personal journey

• Opportunity to work with Hapé (medicinal tabacco snuff)

• Burning of the dots on skin, "opening the gates"

• Application of Kambo Secretion onto gates

• Then for about 15 - 30 minutes, inward journey with Frog Spirit accompanied with physical, emotional, energetic and spiritual purge. Guided assistance by myself that includes music and sound healing

• After 15 - 60 min, you may experience relaxation, calmness, clarity, increased sensitivity, need for rest, inner peace, change in perception, pain relief.

• After the ceremony and for the following 1 to 2 weeks it is common to feel lighter and brighter, experiencing more ease, flow, greater awareness, spiritual connection, confidence, higher levels of discernment, and vitality – aka Kambo Glow

Experience

This work happens as Kambo provokes a response in the body that is different for each person & can manifest a number of ways, including:

Purging / retching or bowel movement (toxins leaving body - organs cleansing)

• Tetany or lobster hands / shaking (trauma & emotions leaving body)

• Temperature rise / sweating (skin clearing toxins)

• Swelling of face (histamine response as the lymph nodes cleanse)

• Fainting momentarily (less common - leaving body to do deeper work)

Preparation - Requirements - Please read carefully

Fast of 10 to 12 hours before ceremony, only water allowed. Active people with a quick metabolism are fine with an 8-hour break from food, but most will require 10-12 hours. We typically have kambo in the morning so it only really requires skipping breakfast.

Right before you receive Kambo, you will be asked to drink 1.5 liters of water to help with purging. Do not drink this water until you arrive at ceremony. Limit your water intake the morning of, drink only to quench your thirst, as you don't want to over-water your system.

Do not reduce your salt intake in the days before ceremony.

Detox from all alcohol, caffeine, drugs, cannabis, pharmaceuticals, medications, and alternative medicines for at least 24 hours, 3 full days before and after are encouraged. It is considered a health risk to have alcohol the days before or after Kambo and it can be good to abstain for a week before and a week after for deeper cleansing.

Abstain from animal products, which includes all meat (especially red meat), dairy, and animal biproducts such as eggs, for at least 24 hours, 3 full days before and after encouraged!

It is also recommended to cut out processed sugar and any other processed foods, taking time to really simplify and tune in to healthy diet 3 days before ceremony (the longer the better)

Do not attempt to water or dry fast 7 days before or after Kambo, or begin any colonics or enimas.

We will have the opportunity to solidify our intentions for the work in our Kambo ceremony. What are you calling in and what are you releasing? It is good to start meditating and journaling on this beforehand.

Oil pulling (swishing coconut or sesame oil in your mouth for 10-20 mins) the day before is also a good idea to protect enamel on your teeth from purging.

After Ceremony

Most often people feel a bit tired after Kambo and would like to relax. Sometimes people have a very energized response after the Kambo ceremony and are ready to go back to work. I recommend keeping it mellow. Even if one feels a lot of energy after Kambo, lots of activity can often leave one feeling particularly exhausted by the end of the day. It is good to plan for a mellow day after the ceremony.

After having released bile one can take the sour taste in any form and it will help to form more bile (lemon water with salt is a great option). Taking strong probiotics after taking such a strong antibiotic will keep the intestinal flora healthy. It is good to soothe the throat with something like licorice or fennel if you are sore after the purge.
